Submission for LM0B Beginner Game Jam 16

The vampire Drack knows of a fountain that spouts blood during a full moon, unfortunately it seems to be attracting bats. Use your stores of blood to shoot them down! But watch out! He needs blood to survive too! Shoot and dodge the bats to drink your fill from the fountain, while remembering not to let yourself get too low on blood.

Controls:

Move: WASD

Shoot: F

Drink: E

Aim Up: W

About me:

Before this Jam, I have never made a game in Unity and outside of tech demo I made in college, have never really learned much about game design. Basically everything about this project is new territory for me and I spent a lot of the 5 days just picking up the basics of Unity and Hexels. I know this game is kind of basic looking, and the mob spawner is suddenly broke, and the resolution isn't scaling right when you play in WebGL, and there's no music or sound effects, and the rigid body on the fountain makes shooting from on side of the screen to the other impossible, but I'm still proud of what I was able to accomplish from zero in these five days and truly believe if I could start over, this game would be much better.

Special thanks to:

Ansimuz for some FX that I didn't have time to redraw

Brackeys for all the tutorials

The kind folk in the LM0B discord who helped me through several problems

Great game, especially if it was your first jam. The explosions looked awesome, it was really fun, umm that until I discovered an exploit XD and just stood there holding 'E'. so maybe you can fix that if you wish to expand on this game. And if I didn't stress it enough, it was super fun :)

Nice idea and cool game for your first time using unity! Some feedback for you, if the bat collides with the player you lose 1 blood just like you do when you shoot, but you can just stand over the fountain and spam e and wait until the bats collide with you and never lose the game this way, maybe add a blood-drinking limiter or the player loses 1 blood shooting but if a bat collides he loses 3

overall nice little game
